I recently wrote a post titled “2,000 Free Marriott Rewards Points Each Month, Automated” which was supposed to fully automate the Marriott plus points promotion making it possible to earn 2,000 marriott points for free every month. Unfortunately I made a mistake and totally forgot to instruct people to set their tweets to repeat daily. The reason this happened is that I set mine up two weeks ago, I wanted to make sure it worked properly and my account was not shut down immediately.
That said, there is no excusing this. I wasted your time when my goal is to save you time. For that I’m extremely sorry. In step six you will need to click the gear icon change the repeat interval to fixed and to 1 day. You’ll need to do this for each of the three tweets.
To edit your project, click the twitter icon next to the project name on the main page. I’ve updated the original post to reflect the fact that you need to do this as well. Again, my apologies. I’ll make sure I double check things more thoroughly before posting in the future.
Is this info found on some other thread on this site? I recently received the email below.
Maybe this is well known by others but apparantly marriott rewards points now have an expiration date. Notable to me is that social media activity does not count to keep them active. Any simple , fast inexpensve ideas to keep my account active without staying at marriott? I just want to build some points to redeem for a gc, I think.
Thank you for your loyalty as a member of Marriott Rewards, and for your inquiry about this program update. While we have found it necessary to begin enforcing our 24-month expiration policy, we have enacted it in the most customer-friendly manner possible. We are providing nearly a year advance notice before the first expirations will be enforced and added additional ways to have qualifying activity. The first date this policy will be enforced is February 1, 2016.
At that time, if a member has not had qualifying activity since January 31, 2014, points will be forfeited. This is a two year window to have qualifying activity which is twice the time period provided by most of our competitors. The program will then continue to review accounts and those with no activity for the previous 24 months will forfeit all points. It is important to remember that points will only expire if an account is inactive for two consecutive years. Members can even purchase points to ensure an account remains in an active status. We are implementing this to continue to provide the industry’s most compelling benefits for our active members.
Qualifying activity includes: Completing a paid stay earning either points or frequent flyer miles Redeeming points Using the Marriott Rewards Credit Card for purchases
Earning points with one of our partners
Purchasing points Holding a qualified meeting or event through Rewarding Events
Please note that not all points activities will help an account to remain active. Gifting or transferring points, receiving gifted or transferred points, and earning points through social media do not count as qualifying activity for your account to remain active. If the points in a Marriott Rewards account are forfeited, the points cannot be reinstated, but new points can be earned on that account unless the account has been deactivated.
An account will be deactivated if a member does not have qualifying activity on an account for five consecutive years. Rewards redeemed by a member prior to points on an account being forfeited are still valid even though the reward may not have been fulfilled at the time that points were forfeited.

We are always happy to help! Thank you for being a Marriott Rewards member since 2006.
A man of Honor! Someone who apologies like that in public is a true gentleman. Keep up your good work.
For some reason I’m having problems getting this credit. Wonder if it’s because my profile is branded as Ritz Carlton rewards and not Marriott. I get an email that says:
We were unable to credit your account for recent social media activity. Please be sure that your Marriott Rewards account is active, and that you’ve selected points instead of miles for your earning preference.
I have verified everything and it should be fine. I emailed support. Hopefully they can get this straightened out.
Don’t worry about it — you’re doing the lord’s work. And being transparent about your mistakes (especially as minor as this) instills my confidence in you/your blog more than if you otherwise didn’t make this mistake!
