The Fine Print

• Offer not available to existing American Enterprise Bank customers, those with fiduciary account, or those whose accounts have been closed within 90 days or closed with a negative balance.
• The direct deposit needs to be an electronic deposit from your employer or the government of your paycheck, pension or government benefits (such as Social Security)
• $100 minimum account opening
• After you complete the deposit requirements the bonus will post within 10 business days
• Direct deposit must be made within 60 days of account opening
• All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them

Avoiding Fees

There are no monthly fees on this account but you will be charged an early account termination fee (bonus withdrawn) if you close the account within six months of opening. Given that there is no monthly fee, this doesn’t really matter.

Our Verdict

This would be a pretty good bonus if you can confirm it’s a soft pull to open, given that you have to open an account in branch you should be able to confirm this before you sign up. We’ve added it to our bank bonus list, but not our best bonus list because of the small geographical requirements and the fact we don’t know much about this bonus.
