Our Verdict
Not nearly as good as the 100,000 point offers. But we haven’t seen that for a year, so the bonus on the Earner+ might be worth considering if you have a short term need for points. We will add this to our list of the best credit card bonuses.
I have had an Earner+ for 4 years, and my annual fee posts tomorrow. At this point I’ve upgraded to having better cards to earn points on so I called to see if they have a retention offer to make the $75 annual fee more appealing, but the rep I spoke to said they have no offers. I said I wanted to downgrade to the Earner card and she told me they can’t do that, but they have the terrific option of applying for the Earner card and then cancelling my Plus. I asked to speak to a supervisor and after holding for 10 minutes she said I can try calling back later. This, on top of a terrible experience trying to get points refunded due to a poor property between Wyndham and Barclays ping pong, I’ll probably just cancel.
The Wyndham hotel site 60,000 point bonus for 2,000 $ activity in first three months is bogus. I signed up from the Wyndham hotel site. I surpassed the dollar purchase threshold and only got 45,000 points. I called the card issuer (Barclay bank) and was told it was 45,000 points. I called Wyndham hotels customer service and they said it was like their website states—60,000 for the primary earner card. They referred me back to Barclays for remedy. The ping pong ball routine. I called Barclays back and they stood by the 45K boilerplate that some guy in India is reading from his screen.
That must be frustrating. It is strange how Wyndham is marketing a different promo than what Barclays is.
FYI for those reading random outdated blog posts:
Wyndam Diamond (from credit card) can no longer be used to match to Ceasars as of 2/1/2025. = NO FREE CRUISES!
I realize that this wont be news to most people following closely, but there are many old blog posts touting free cruises with Caesar status: I almost signed up for the Wyndham business card planning to match to Caesars, in hopes of getting a free (cheap) cruise. (Carnival Match, Etc.)
*** Note Caesars does still match Wyndham status from hotel stays, time share ownership etc. – Just not status earned from card signup or from matching another program. – This is pretty confusing if you read the Caesars Status match page.
I imagine there are likely some loopholes from gambling matches that aren’t being published. (i.e. I bet if you can get status ‘matched’ / offered from one gambling program to another, there could be a program someone can get Caesars to match without checking too closely. Unfortunately anyone that’s managed to figure that out, hasn’t told others online, or at least the bloggers haven’t picked up on it.)

Looks like I’ll just be getting P2 a US Bank Bus card bonus for now until Southwest signup season returns in the fall.

Any idea if this card gets charged by GTE (acc or CD) as cash advance? what about WF Signify?
Can you do GTE OOS? Or are you in the Fl footprint?
Hi, what is OOS?
Anyone knows when these offers end?
DP: I have had Earner+ since April 2024 & just approved for no-fee Earner today. So this says you can have both versions of personal cards.
Anyone have luck churning these? Specifically the Earner Plus card?
Just curious, did you figure if Barclays allows you to have two of the same card? I too am considering going for the 90k Earners+ after getting it last year.
I have an existing Wyndham account – and entered the number when I applied – but they still gave me a new one anyway after I got approved. How do I fix this?
You probably have to contact both Barclays first, and Wyndham later, presumably by phone, to get it totally fixed.
What I mean by “totally” is that there will likely be two errors soon: One is that the card is sending your points to a new account, the second is that once that is fixed, the two accounts on the Wyndham side need to be merged into one account, unless the first error is somehow fixed before they ever send anything from Barclays to Wyndham.
I’ve heard of this happening before on FlyerTalk, which has a separate discussion forum just for Wyndham Rewards, and that’s what people said had to be done there.
Thanks. La Quinta, with a reasonable pet fee and breakfast included, is a decent pick when traveling with a dog.
If I just the bonus last week, do you think I can get the upgraded bonus if I call in? I know Chase does this.
