Avoiding Fees
There is an early account termination fee of $25 if you close your account within 180 days of account opening. The Key Express checking account has the lowest monthly fee of $7 and also the easiest fee waiver. There is also a $40 annual fee for the relationship rewards fee, make sure you opt out of this.

Our Verdict
KeyBank recently had an offer for $200 but only required direct deposits totaling $200. They’ve also offered higher sign up bonuses than $150 in the past. That said this is a pretty easy to meet bonus and there are lots of data points for ACH transfers working.
If I lived within the service area I would’ve jumped on the $200 deal and thus wouldn’t be eligible for this deal. That said this is still a great offer so jump on it if you didn’t make the most of the $200 offer as they usually don’t offer it as high as that.
