[Expired] Kroger: Purchase Giftcards & Get 200 Fuel Points (Uber, Stub Hub & More)

Deal has expired, view more Kroger deals by clicking here.

Update 3/4/19: Direct link now works, unfortunately you can’t stack with the 4x anymore. Hat tip to Drivesabrowntruck

The Offer

Direct link to offer (might show in app only)

  • Kroger is offering 200 bonus fuel points when you purchase any of the select gift cards (excludes $10 cards):
    • Red Robin
    • Buffalo Wild Wings
    • Arby’s
    • Southwest
    • Nike
    • Google Play
    • Xbox
    • Domino’s
    • Uber
    • Stub Hub

The Fine Print

  • Valid until 3/10/19
  • Limit of one coupon per household.
  • Digital Coupons and paper coupons may not be combined on the purchase of a single item.
  • Specially marked items, such as Clearance or Manager’s Specials may not be eligible for Digital Coupons.

Our Verdict

There is 4x fuel points on all gift cards this weekend as well. Make sure to use a credit card that earns at a high rate on grocery store purchases.

Direct link leads to this:
“Sorry, currently there are no available coupons to add to your card.”

Same. Must be targeted somehow.

A division of Kroger has announced an end to the relationship with Visa charge cards https://www.ksl.com/article/46501715/smiths-to-ban-visa-credit-cards-citing-excessive-fee-charges
Another division of Kroger has already done so, last year (see article). Smith’s food stores offers a MasterCard which has a .55 cent per gallon discount for the first year. Don’t know if it’s only good at the Smiths gas stations or maybe could possibly be used at Kroger gasoline fuel service stations as well. First time that there has been a deal that will under sell Costco gasoline prices we’be seen.
Did’nT think about there being much of a difference to interchange fees between Visa vs MasterCard. Must be enough to make a difference.

1. The Visa interchange fees vary by the retailer, per the article. So maybe they’re higher for these retailers but not others, say because of past negotiations?

2. The other Kroger division, Foods Co, was a small “warehouse” food chain with only a handful of locations. This time, Smiths is a mainstream grocery chain with hundreds of locations.

3. Not in this article, but elsewhere I’ve heard (not sure if it was reporting or speculation) that it may be that Visa allows higher interchange fees for “premium” cards than the others do, and that it’s tied to the rise of Visa “premium” cards?

In a few weeks, I will be moving to a city where they have Kroger. Is it true that we can use Kroger fuel points to save at Shell gas station? I only get gas at Shell so it would be really nice if I can take advantage of these offers.

AJ yes, but depending on the location, you’ll either be able to use all (1000 = $1) off per gallon or (100 =.10) per gallon. Around here, you can only use the full 1000 points at Kroger, Shell only lets you use 100.

Hopefully there’s a good reason to only go to Shell because all gas is the same.

Just found them in the app, doesn’t show on the website. You need to scroll down and sort newest first. I found them right above the Friday and Saturday only coupons by sorting newest first and scrolling down.

appreciate the tip, but your method didn’t work for me…. I really loathe search for coupons on the miserable Kroger app….. you have maybe 4 coupons showing per screen – and you have hundreds to flip through. tried it twice, second time with magnification. What an utter waste of time — fruitless.

escot: I too despise the Kroger/Fred Meyer app. Trying to go through and look at coupons, you have to wade thru the “order online and pick up at store” items. i hate it and tell mgmt every chance i get

I don’t see this in the app. The link goes to a AT&T prepaid card.

I don’t see the coupon on my Digital Coupons page (the page linked in this article’s “Direct link to offer” hyperlink). I do see “Get 200 BONUS FUEL Points” for buying one AT&T Prepaid Wireless Card, but not for any other gift cards.

Would you happen to have a direct link to the coupon itself (via the “Copy Link” button)? For example, the direct link to the AT&T coupon is: https://www.kroger.com/c/get-200-bonus-fuel-points-coupon/800000024332

Yup, it’s not in my app either. Oh well, nbd.

bd to me…. the apparent fact that quite a few of us here (and in other forums) didn’t show this promo suggests Kroger is starting to play that nasty game of targeting coupons and/or only having so many available…. and first come, first serve. Maybe NBD to you; but “interesting” (and potentially alienating) at least to me.
