On March 30th a number of changes will be made to the American Express Personal Platinum (Business card will also have changes made, outlined here). One of those changes is an increase to the annual fee, it will go from $450 to $550. If you sign up for the card now, you’ll get the $450 annual fee (this year only, then it will go up to $550). In addition it’s currently bonus to get a sign up bonus of 75,000 points after $5,000 in spend (this is an incognito mode offer, some people will say the current offer is 40,000 points but this is deceptive). There are some unsubstantiated rumors that the official sign up bonus will change to 60,000 points after $5,000 in spend. It’s possible that the incognito mode will also disappear and be replaced by this 60,000 point offer (or maybe they will increase the incognito mode offer).
