Our Verdict
Personally I don’t think waking up and getting in line is worth a $10 gift card, but that will depend on your financial situation.
It’s not a gift card, but a Macy’s rewards card. Expires 12/24. Similar to Macy’s cash. Wasn’t worth it if it I had just gotten one, but my store wasn’t busy, so they gave me a few.
Terms on the card say you can actually use this as payment towards your Macy’s credit card.
FYI, If considering this, make sure to check the store hours directly on Macy’s website. Google says my Macy’s will open at 11 am this Sat. (This is obviously wrong for the Saturday before Christmas.) Macy’s website says they will open at 7am.
And I doubt my local Macy’s has this offer.

Last time when they ran this promo, I was able to get a few by asking the store associates who were roaming around in the store handing these out. This is a super busy mall in NJ. It was 1.5 hours after the store opening, so I guess it would not be that crowded or need to stand in line generally.
I wonder if this will be distributed electronically by having a unique code to text that is displayed in store. I made a killing off that with the Lowe’s promo a year or so ago.
Depends on your area if its worth it. Personally I refuse to stand on line for an hour with a bunch of jackals in the cold for 10 dollars. And if your financial situation is that rough, perhaps shopping at Macy’s isn’t for you.
By the way for those who don’t know, jackals are medium-sized omnivorous mammals of the genus Canis, which also includes wolves, coyotes and the domestic dog. I, too, refuse to stand in line with a bunch of jackals in the cold for a mere $10.
Are they attempting a Black Friday style event but for Christmas time and for $10…
