Marriott Choice Benefits Now Available To Select [Still Not Fixed]

Update: Looks like it’s still erroring out.

It’s now possible to choose your annual choice benefit with Marriott for completing 50/75, previously the website wasn’t working properly. You also now have until February 7th, 2019 to make your selection due to the website being broken. Click here to make your selection.

I was finally able to make my platinum selection today. Hopefully that’s a sign things are back up and running.

UPDATE: This looks to be working now for me. Everyone give it a shot again, I’m no longer getting an error. I just selected my 50 night bonus – and it auto prompted me to pick my 75 night as well.

EDIT: For my 50 night bonus I chose 5 nights (I want lifetime status), and for my 75 day I chose 1 free night.

Says this on the page: “These bonus Elite Nights do not count toward Lifetime status.”

I’m finding the suite night awards to be pretty useless, I can’t find any reservations that will accept them. Seems like the free night would be a way better deal.

Do you have to make a reservation and then use the suite night awards to upgrade the room, or can you do it when booking?

Also, what are the restrictions? Presidential/Governor-type suites?

Should be noted that “Five Elite Night Credits” posts to the year in which you earned status (as in, 2018) and does not add to your 2019 total. So it’s really only useful if last year you were within five nights of 75 to hit the next tier, or if you just want a few extra towards your lifetime total.

Damn, I honestly would have picked the 5 night credit during 2018 if I knew that. I held off until the beginning of 2019 hoping that maybe it helped me qualify for status.

I was going to do the same thing but decided to reach out to check. It’s indeed in the terms that regardless of the year you redeem it (2019) it posts to the year that you earned it (2018). Would be much more useful to be used this year.

Uhhh… if they don’t count towards Lifetime status… what DO they count towards?

This is also not working for me, with the same bug I’ve been encountering for the entire year: it says I’ve already picked my benefit referencing my 50 night selection even though I’m entitled to a 75 night selection.

I’ve called Marriott a few times regarding this and the reps have been powerless and unhelpful, unfortunately. These tech issues are out of their hands.

I really wasn’t originally on the “Marriott is blowing this merger” boat since my own experience had been fine, but boy has their tech and support degraded in the past three months. Very, very frustrating,
