Match Your M Life Gold Status To Hyatt Explorist (& Vice Versa)

Update 3/1/22: Hyatt status has reset so you can now match MGM back to Hyatt.

Update 2/2/22: Time to match from Hyatt to MGM again as Hyatt status will expire on 2/28/22.

Update 3/1/20: Time to match M Life To Hyatt again.

Update 1/1/20: This is still working

Update 1/1/19: This is working in 2019 as well. Relevant links:

If you’ve previously matched your old Hyatt Platinum status to M Life gold and then matched that to the new Hyatt Explorist then you’re Explorist status will be due to expire on 2/28/18. M Life Gold status doesn’t expire until 9/30/18 though, this means you can match your M Life Gold to Hyatt Explorist until 2/28/19. You can do this match online here. Hyatt Explorist gives you the following benefits:

  • Receive 4 Club lounge access awards annually, which include breakfast daily. (these will post instantly)
  • 20% bonus on base points
  • Full list of benefits here

I can’t really see this lasting long term, as it would effectively let people match between the two programs in a constant loop. But maybe there is a small enough number of people in this situation that it won’t be an issue (not really possible anymore as the Chase Hyatt card only gives Discoverist status).

If you’re having issues, follow these steps: log into Mlife in another tab first, then go to Hyatt page. If error is that you already matched then log out of Hyatt and log back in and see if it updated to 2019 anyway

Doing it online gives error. Have you tried in person?

I verified I am Hyatt Explorist still, but I am getting this error?
“Your M life Rewards and World of Hyatt membership accounts could not be matched. Please contact us with any questions.”

Did you happen to try and match it in person? Not going to Vegas anytime soon so was wondering if you tried.

Same error. Did you ever try in person?

Once I matched to Explorist, does Hyatt still require 60 nights to Globalist or will they only require the diff (30 nights)?

Question – In the past, matching from MGM Gold to Hyatt Explorist have also resulted in getting 4 Club upgrades. Has that changed? I was matched but did not get the Club upgrades. At least I don’t see them listed in My Awards…

That’s no longer offered. Changed back in 2019/2020 I think. You gotta earn them now by meeting requirements

Dang, seems like when I tried to match Hyatt to MGM in early Feb, there was a glitch or I must have goofed up and it is Pearl and Hyatt went to Discoverist. Maybe I was lax because I swear my Explorist was good till Feb 2023 and maybe that’s why I didn’t pay much attention.

But I guess now I have to be physically at MGM casino to get it matched to Gold via Caesars Diamond. Is that the only route?

Same happened to me on the MGM side. I made sure I was GOLD after Feb 1st but it went to Peal later. Luckily my Hyatt status carried into next year so I was still able to match to MGM. I believe this is related to the recent MGM reward system update.

You think that’s a glitch on mgm side? I thought I matched to gold but was changed to Pearl?!?

JP

It was indeed a glitch. MGM cs was able to verify I had indeed matched earlier in Feb. I am Gold now and just matched to Hyatt for Explorist. Saved me so much time! phew..

mine was already on explorist, the status didnt go back down. have only stayed at hyatt once in 2021. but it says Explorist through Feb 28, 2023 , so it may have been done automatically, i tried to clicked on link. but it said Your M life Rewards and World of Hyatt accounts have already been matched.

Just matched back to Explorist. The Hyatt site is indicating that I have status til Feb 29th, 2024. Nice – hopefully not a bug.

eds183 the same; but if it’ll stick, i won’t mind

Me, too. I can verify positively that I was Explorist anyway, expiring 2023 (prior to matching). Matching MLife > Hyatt just now, for the hell of it just bumped me to 2024. I like!

Same. Said already matched, but Explorist expiration date changed from 2/23 to 2/24.

My Explorist was already through 2023 but clicking on the link again extended mine through 2024

I’d call it a glitch and not a bug. The IT seems to think like this: year=202x +1.

My Hyatt didn’t drop and I stayed 0 nights at Hyatt last year.

Aside from maybe Las Vegas, is there a city/location where I can get my physical Caesars card and go down the street to match to MGM Gold to get on this MGM-Hyatt loop?

do you need physical caesars card to get matched to mgm gold? It will be couple hours drive but I am pearl/discoverist now and gotta get that Explorist!!

They have a list by state. You can match at any of them, for now at least.

I would have to drive from MSP to the Iowa border. I wonder how much gas money that would be. Unless an Iowan or southern Minnesotan can come on here and help me know what is exciting to do between MSP and the Iowa border I don’t think it’s worth 9-10 hours of my life and $75 in gas to get Hyatt status. As nice as that would be for the couple stays I do each year.

I don’t think MGM in Vegas is running that promo anymore
