If you have US Bank Cash+ or Elan Max Cash Preferred, one of your 5% categories is electronics stores, which includes Newegg. With a 10% deal like this, it comes out to 14.5% savings plus any extra via portals.

Newegg let’s your use VGC to make the purchase…so you can easily add on another 5% discount if you buy them on sale at Staples with you Ink card.

Wife didn’t count as a different customer because she’s at the same address. Said I could buy again after 48 hours though.

Do they share L3 data with US Bank? Planning to buy with Altitude Reserve.

You’ll be fine as long as you don’t hit too hard ($300 or less).

Why US bank does not like GC purchase? What is the problem if I buy more than $300 GC with US bank CC?

I have found that Lowe’s prices tend to be higher than Home Depot’s.
Also Lowe’s carry fewer items.
What are people buying at Lowe’s that are better?

You can’t buy a gift card with a Lowe’s gift card.
So, AGAIN.
What is the attraction?

You asked a bit of a ridiculous question. It’s much easier to get discounts at Lowe’s (coupons, military discount, etc.). The stores carry similar and very different items. I personally prefer whatever store has what I need at the lowest price and availability.

I have been purchasing faucets etc for my home.
And Lowe’s carry fewer models of kitchen faucets, as an example, compared with Home Depot.
Lowe’s prices tend to be 20% more!
The discount on these gift cards make the prices from Lowe’s equal to Home Depot’s.
I am merely trying to understand the fascination with Lowe’s.

If it doesn’t work for you, then just let it go.

Kyle answered your question and I’ll add this tid bit, if HD has a sale (with yellow tags) on any item, Military discounts will not apply. If the sale price is lower at HD, I can get a price match at my Lowe’s, stack military discount and use discounted gift cards.
Not all items at HD are lower compared to Lowe’s. I keep a nice supply of both gift cards however, I get the biggest bang for my buck at Lowe’s.
My house is 30 years old, repairs & updates are necessary so there’s not just one or two items I’m looking for, it’s everything including seasonal items.
If you’re still not getting it, I agree with nudder one, let it go.

I am here to see if there is something hidden.
Hence I ask the question “what am I missing”.

You are telling me that not all items at HD are lower compared to Lowe’s.

For me, and the items that *I* buy, they are.

It is not a subjective statement. It is an objective statement.
I compared actual prices on items I am buying.

Maybe in your area, but in my realm, Lowe’s is almost always MUCH cheaper (sic — by golly 20% sometimes) than HD. Sheesh. Come off your high horse.

atexit8
atexit8

What “high horse”???

Prices are prices.
In my area, Lowe’s prices are 20% higher for the same item.

FACT is a FACT.

You come of your high horse.

How does the price match work for online shopping ?

Do you have to do the chat before you make the purchase?

Lowe’s is the only home improvement store within a 30 minute radius. Any savings helps.

It used to be major home appliances, but no more.

Lowes has joined Home Depot with the 48 hour return window for damaged or non-working major appliances. The new 48-hour window effectively bars customers from returning their appliance purchases.

The exception, Appliances returned in original, unopened, undamaged, factory-sealed packaging and/or purchased with a Lowe’s Commercial Account (LCA), Lowe’s Business Advantage (LBA), Lowe’s Advantage Card (LAC), Lowe’s Business Rewards (LBR), Lowe’s PreLoad Card (PreLoad) or Lowe’s Lease to Own (LTO) are returned within 30 days of purchase. The clock begins ticking at the time of delivery or store pickup.

I shop at Lowe’s because the employees are 50 year year olds who know what they’re talking about instead of Home Depot 19 year year olds who don’t. As well, more discounted gift cards are available from Lowe’s and, though not much, shopping portals can be higher with Lowe’s than for Home Depot.

Comparing a couple of Home Depot stores with a couple of Lowe’s here. Per my anecdotal experience, prices are comparable (and heard Lowe Price matches – never used). Lowe’s is also better laid-out, with better lighting, space and more helpful employees. Had more choice for patio furniture with good pricing.
