Our Verdict

Sometimes we see a 20% discount, might be worth waiting. GC Galore notes that purchasing in the Panera app (or possibly even online) might code as Dining for rewards purposes or to trigger the Chase Offer and to be able to pay with certain Happy cards.

Some interesting savings DPs for me at Panera lately:

They recently had a Challenge (email: “Score a $5 REWARD! Learn how inside”) to receive reward for $5 off a future order after making two purchases between 2/21/2025 – 3/23/2025. Was meant to be only food orders, fine print says gift cards excluded, but I bought an eGift Card on the app anyway, before the latest 20% off eGC promo ended on 2/22. I then got an email (“You’re so close to a $5 REWARD, Bob”) indicating I’ve done one of the 2 required purchases. Sure enough, after doing another purchase, got the $5 credit.

Another savings DP: I had a $2 off a sandwich Reward. My app order cart had a You Pick Two, and a Value Duet. I tried to redeem the $2 Reward, why not? It actually redeemed, for $4! So with the aforementioned $5 credit, I only paid ~$8 net (paid with eGC bought for 20% off).

Just purchased a $29.41 egiftcard in-app for $25 with a CSP with 10%/$25 offer. Will see if it posts as restaurant and if the offer is applied.

I get the cashback from Chase when I bought eGifts card in the Panera app in the past.

It does count, however this 15% discount isn’t as good as the 20% discount offer that Panera was running for a while. Still could be worth doing.

Right.
I redeemed my Chase Offer for 10% off $25+ last week.
If I had waited, this would have stacked.
Bummer.

Stack it with discover 5% category on restaurants for a 20% discount total

Have you tried this? I thought the gift cards didn’t code as restaurant spend?

Not sure about this, but I think Apple card gives 3%

Stacked for me, I wanted the 15% discount offer regardless and charged it to Discover Card. Result: $100 GC for $85 and earned $4.25 Discover cash back.

You can pay for the Panera e-gift cards with Happy gift cards? Would it make sense to buy on TopCashBack giftcards.com for 5% cashback? Then it’d essentially be 20%?

It seems “Let’s eat” happycard is now no longer able to purchase the Panera gift card while I did numerous times in the past through Panera app or website
