- PayPal is offering a $5 USD reward towards your next in-store purchase with PayPal and Google Pay or Samsung Pay.
The Fine Print
- Eligible Participants must link their PayPal account to their Google Pay or Samsung Pay account, during the Qualification Period. Only the first linking of a PayPal account to either a Google Pay or Samsung Pay account will qualify for the reward.
- Once qualified for, the Reward will be applied automatically to the Eligible Participant’s next Eligible Purchase made during the Redemption Period using the Valid Account that qualified for the Reward. The Reward must be redeemed during the Redemption Period and may only be redeemed as described in these terms & conditions. Use of the Reward will be reflected on the Eligible Participant’s PayPal receipt and/or in the transaction details of his/her PayPal account. There is a limit of one (1) Reward per Valid Account.

Our Verdict
Basically you need to link your PayPal account to Google Pay/Samsung Pay and then the offer should appear. Seems like people are having more success with Google Pay, so I’d start with that and if it doesn’t work then try Samsung Pay. You can only do the deal once (e.g can’t do it on both Google & Samsung Pay). Basically a free $5, not a huge amount but you can’t complain too much really.

I had done this once before and for long time it always said I had already earned the $5. but the last few days it lost that memory
You think it will give me another $5.
Every time I tried to pay with paypal using samsung pay, it asked for a pin. I set the pin and tried to use it and the register consistently would spit out invalid pin. Anyone else have this same problem?
FYI I called Paypal about the missing $5. I was given the runaround for 27 min and 4 representatives before being disconnected. I had a bad feeling about this deal from the start; I should trust my intuition when it comes to these things.
I think this doesn’t work with Paypal business accounts. I linked my Paypal to Samsung Pay over a week ago, and don’t see any $5 offer in my account. Tried making a $10 purchase at both Petco in store, and a $10 Amazon gift card, but neither of them got a $5 credit.
Anyone know if it would still work if I linked my personal account now? Or did I use up my one-time link?
Linked to Samsung Pay, waited for the $5 offer to show up, then made a purchase on Samsung Pay (with PayPal as the selected card). It didn’t deduct from my $5 balance though…wtf? what qualifies as an in-store purchase then if paying with samsung pay doesnt work…
