One of the more popular bank bonus offers currently available is the  $400 PNC bank bonus. If you have $5,000 to float, and you can manage $5k in direct deposit and a bill payment, you’ll walk away with four crisp $100 bills.
A few weeks ago, we wrote about the Updated Terms for PNC $400 Bank Bonus. Three key details changed at that time:
- Account can only be opened in-branch
- Bonus is only available to existing PNC customers (who have a savings account or the like)
- Bonus is only available to residents of AL, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MD, MI, MO, NC, NJ, NY, OH, PA, SC, VA, WI, and WV
Reader Dave points out that they’ve switched the first detail, and the bonus is now for accounts opened online.
This is great news! I’m going to open up a savings account today and then do the checking bonus in a few days. I want to give a few days for the account to be confirmed as opened before doing opening the checking account; hopefully, they won’t change the details again before then. I’ll get 2 Chex inquiries for this, but it’s well worth it in my opinion.
Looks like there is a savings account which needs just $300 minimum to keep it fee-free. Let us know if you find a better option.
