PNC has announced that it will acquire FirstBank in a cash & stock deal that is expected to close in early 2026 and values FirstBank at $4.1 billion. Currently FirstBank offers a $300 checking bonus for those in CA, AZ & CO. I’d recommend doing that bonus if you haven’t already as obviously it won’t be available for much longer (although they seem to be very ChexSystems sensitive). PNC also has a $200/$400 checking bonus.
