Positive Changes To The Capital One Quicksilver Benefit

Until March, 2017 Capital One Quicksilver cardholders get a free Uber ride after they pay for 9 rides with their Quicksilver cards. Previously this was a free ride token valued at up to $15 but they are making a positive change to this benefit:

Starting November 2, you’ll get $15 in Uber credits – instead of a free ride token (valued at up to $15) – every time you pay for 9 rides with your Capital One Quicksilver or QuicksilverOne® card through March 31, 2017

Unlike the previously earned free ride tokens (valued at up to $15), your $15 in Uber credits can be used on multiple rides at any time through April 30, 2017. For example, if you have $15 in Uber credits and use them for a $10 ride, you will have an Uber credits balance of $5 available for redemption on your next ride.

In addition, any free ride tokens you’ve yet to use before November 2 will be automatically converted into $15 in Uber credits each. Just be sure to use your credits before they expire on April 30, 2017

This is great news for people using Uber, previously if most of your trips were inexpensive you had to wait for an expensive ride to actually use up your credits otherwise you were basically wasting them. Now that it’s Uber credit you can just use it up as you go along.

The negative change is that you cannot use the credits internationally. It’s easy to earn rides in places where uber is cheaper like the Philippines and get a large credit.
I attached the old wordings. http://4stor.com/Uq4nC “.. You can also redeem your free ride domestically or internationally.”
