Our Verdict
50,000 miles isn’t a lot when compared to the difference your interest rate will make. Obviously make sure you get the best rate you can.

“Hey honey let’s buy a house”
Using them now and hoping they can add this on. We have been very happy with their service thus far.
Those interested in this may also be interested in using BILT to buy a house, you earn 50k points per $100,000 purchase price it looks like.
No amount of miles would convince me to work with such a shady company.
I happened to have used Rate.com for my mortgage. Didn’t have any issues. Might depend on the rep you use, IDK.
Wish I would have gotten 50k Alaska miles with my mortgage, hah.
For what itās worth, we used Guaranteed Rate for our mortgage in March 2022 and were very pleased with the process.
Our mortgage broker helped us lock in a competitive rate right before interests rates started to rise in March 2022 (Russia / Ukraine war).
This is my only data point regarding going through the mortgage process, but I would definitely consider using them again.
Used Guaranteed Rate for years in Chicago for condo and 1st house purchase, and several refis for the latter.
For 2nd house purchase in 2018 they couldn’t compete with Better.com so made the switch. Did several refis on the 2nd house with Better from 2019-2021. No purchases or refis since, so not sure what either Rate or Better look like these days…
If I were in the market for a mortgage or refi, I would definitely look into Rate and Better. I have no idea how they compare today either…
