Recap: Amazon Go, Safe Not Safe & Direct Deposit Tip

  • How to: meet 100% of Direct Deposit requirements for $10/month by aksurvivorfan. Keep in mind any possible tax implications and speak to a tax professional. People in that thread seem pretty certain there is no tax implication, but again speak to a licensed professional. Personally I think you should be able to just avoid the $10 a month in fees by using our direct deposit database but some might not want to bother with that.
  • If you did a Capital One 360 $400 bonus, check your 1099-INT closely. For some people it’s showing as $800 instead of $400. This is because the bonus posted twice for some reason (they then clawed back one of the $400 bonuses).

  • Amazon Go debuts, and its prying cameras foil our shoplifting attempts by Ars Technica. I thought this article was poorly written, but I actually had trouble finding anything better discussing Amazon Go. I’m really not sure why reviewers are so negative given that this is a proof of concept store and so far seems to be working exceptionally well.
  • Saflok Hotel Safe Override by Lockpicking Lawyer. I understand why they have these master override codes, but there really should be a way to force users to change these when being installed. I wonder what percentage are actually changed?
