I started using https://www.maxoutdeals.com
Fast payments , nice commissions. Taking advantage of my minimum spend bonus + miles and points with Amex gold. Also stacking with cashback – using this monitor: https://www.topcashback.com
At the moment I’d rank Max Out Deals on the top, for my choice of buying groups.

I’ve also used these groups:

BuyForMeRetail (BFMR) – Probably the largest group out there, commissions aren’t too attractive but company is solid.

The Deal Buyer (TDB) – I’ve been following this group for quiet some time, they had a change in management about a year ago. Frankly, I enjoyed using this site before the change. There’s a lot of headaches with missing packages, claims, adjustments etc. I’d use them as my last resort.

Pointsmaker – One of the oldest groups from what I remember, solid group , decent speed in check ins and payments.

MYS Buying Group – A little tough to get on boarded , solid group again, nice variety of deals. They use WhatsApp to notify new deals.

Never reload third party Amazon GC but still got my Amazon account on hold. I don’t believe I violated any GC policy. Still trying to contact account specialist( only by email). I noticed my account was locked when my Alexa doesn’t work and lost all controls of my smart devices. I uploaded credit card statement but still no luck. Does anyone have the same situation? What should I do next?

Wait, probably. I called a bunch of times, spoke to supervisors, etc but I doubt it had any impact. An account specialist reinstated my account about 3 weeks later, with zero communication in between. One rep encouraged me to open a new account meanwhile, lol.

I think they are mostly shutting down people who were selling to buying groups using Amazon gift cards bought from reddit, eBay etc. Some of these gift cards could have been bought with stolen credits cards. Amazon is big , and they can do whatever they want.

I agree this could be the case. I placed over 2,000 orders on amazon last year, most paid for with pre-loaded legit gift cards… so far no issues at all. Over the years I must have loaded thousands of amazon gift cards to my account, the only thing is after I load about 10 or so at a time the website asks me to resolve a captcha to prove I am human, so I either solve a few or wait a couple of hours for it to go away… otherwise no other issues.

So once amazon controls everything they’ll have the power to shut you down and you won’t be able to buy anything ever again

just like Twitter, Facebook…etc can silence anyone on its platform at their discretion

Any place can shut you down if you do sketchy things. Start abusing Costco’s return policy and they will revoke your membership. No different here.

Do we have actual knowledge that Amazon shuts people down over buying groups / reselling? I’ve been doing a bit of it over the past couple years under the impression that they don’t mind. It’s no more than half of my purchases in dollar or a quarter of my purchases in item count. If they do have a problem with it, though, a few specific addresses in Delaware should be super easy to flag.

DP: My Amazon account was reinstated after 3 weeks of suspension. I had a ~$200 amazon balance and had recently loaded a few visa gift cards and used that to buy merchant gift cards using the Amex MR promo. They never gave a reason for the suspension or communicated with me in any way until it was reinstated.

Yay! I am super excited about Cap One finally partnering with Choice. Hard to get those points and they are very useful to me.

I like how mtm is dancing around the fact that the accounts were getting shut down because of reselling.

Totally legit that Amazon would shut people down because of reselling, but seems like a bit much for them to confiscate their gift card balances.

Goods bought on Amazon at a discount I believe. I looked through the comments on the linked article and someone mentioned buyer’s clubs. Googled “Amazon buyer’s clubs” and found some info on that. They’re big groups people can join that will send out buy orders to members on things at a good price. Often members buy the item on Amazon and ship it to the club’s warehouse directly, sometimes they can ship to their house and reship to the club’s warehouse.

Once the club receives the item, the member gets credit for it. That credit may be higher than what they spent, because the club will turn around and resell the products at a higher price. Members will also use credit cards to purchase items, so that they earn points additionally. The article I read had tips like it was a good idea to have multiple Amazon accounts to get around purchase limits.

I can see how that looks like potentially fraudulent activity to Amazon, especially the ones using multiple accounts, so I’ll bet a lot of the shutdown accounts were doing that. I have no doubt that some innocents got caught up in the purge as well.

I never understand whom the buyer’s club resell to… the person could just go on amazon and buy it for less… doesn’t make sense.

I believe they are sent out of the country , like apple products are more expensive in UK as they are the same price but in GBP instead of USD.

I’ll make it easy for ya.
1) Buy For Me Retail
2) PointsMaker
3) TheDealBuyer
4) A plethora of other buying groups

Amazon doesn’t like people using prime benefits for resale. If you don’t use prime benefits, no problem.

I doubt it is due to reselling. I have Amazon credit card and use that primarily for all buying groups earning 5%. I never reload gift cards and my account is safe. I just get the pesky emails from Amazon asking me to convert to a Business account.

Amazon is shutting down?
I guess it was getting too big for its own good.

Read the article, not just the headline. It’s talking about Amazon account shutdowns, not Amazon itself shutting down.

Just like an article about Chase shutdowns would be about Chase shutting down accounts, not Chase itself shutting down.
