As a TCF customer, overdraft fees are quite important to TCF. Back in the day, they had a similar lawsuit where they purposely stacked checks/withdrawals to maximize overdraft fees (ie pay big checks first, so subsequent smaller checks would then bounce if the balance was less than 0, possibly creating a few more overdraft fees, per item of course).
Even after all the lawsuits about this years ago, some banks still do it… that’s what’s caused issues linking some prepaid card accounts, especially (the microdeposits get ‘deposited’ after the pull-back withdrawals because of re-ordering, so you get errors on the other end).
