The Alaska wifi update takes a decent amount of the pain of losing the gogo credits on the Altitude Reserve, since that’s the main place I was using the credits.
Clark Howard dislikes this.
I don’t see zelle competing with credit/debit cards anytime soon. They’re not even the same product. One is an account you can borrow against with fraud protection, the second is basically digital cash. What is a customers incentive to use zelle over a card if the product or service costs the same with both but they get some “perks” by using a credit card?
Not everyone has or is able to be approved for a credit card…
the question would be if they can make the cost cheaper. currently CC agreements make that impossible (i think). but maybe they could change that.
Businesses are allowed to offer a cash discount for…paying in cash. You might have seen it with gas stations. It’s in the 2010 Durbin Amendment to the Dodd-Frank Act.
It’s arguable that a Zelle “payment” system could be interpreted as cash payments and therefore allowed to have a discount. Not definite, though.
Is Zelle is still owned by EWS? They make the credit bureaus look like the good guys.
Yes, Zelle is still owned by EWS
What makes them bad?
There is no protection offered by Zelle. Scams based on Zelle area increasing. If by mistake money is transferred to wrong person, it is gone for good.
unless they return it – which has happened to me and a friend.
That’s nice.
