“While the new rating allows Mexican air carriers to continue existing service to the United States, it prohibits any new service and routes. U.S. airlines will no longer be able to market and sell tickets with their names and designator codes on Mexican-operated flights”

That seems like a big deal.

I am outraged on behalf of everyone who has ever had to pay credit card surcharges to any hotel for any reason.

I think it’s more that people don’t want to pay these when they travel in the future and by complaining now it stops the proliferation of the practice.

Damn, a hotel charging a fee for credit cards? Brutal. Marriott should make that Westin refund everyone they screwed.

When you upload your vaccination card to your MileagePlus profile for the sweepstakes, there’s an option to save your vaccination profile for future travel as well. Make sure to uncheck the boxes for all the marketing options.

That United sweepstakes sounds like a nightmare to win. “ARV: $784,600 each.” But they give you $275,000 too for the taxes I guess

Do you then also owe taxes on the $275,000??? LMAO

The $784,600 total includes the $275,000 cash. They seem to value a roundtrip flight for 2 at $19,600.

Depending on what state you live in and your baseline income, the $275,000 might not cover all of the tax, so you could still be on the hook for tens of thousands of dollars.

Realistically, what I think will happen is that some people will win, spend the $275,000 not knowing they should have kept it for tax purposes, then file for bankruptcy when they realize they’re getting wiped out by the IRS.

Thanks, United!
