The Offer
- First Interstate Bank is offering a $400 bonus when you open a new business checking account and complete the following requirements:
- Use promo code 26GROW400 in branch
- Deposit $2,500 within 30 days and maintain the balance for 60 consecutive days
The Fine Print
- To be eligible for the business account promotion, the business cannot have an existing First Interstate Bank checking, savings or CD account, must not have had any business checking, savings or CD account within the past 90 days, and must not have received a bonus from First Interstate for opening a new business checking and/or savings account within the past 12 months.
- All account applications are subject to approval. Eligible accounts for this promotion include Classic Business Checking, Enhanced Business Checking, and Analyzed Business Checking accounts.
- To receive the bonus, you must open a new First Interstate Bank business checking account using the bonus code, 26GROW400, with a minimum deposit of $100 in a participating branch between May 4, 2026 – June 30, 2026.
- Additionally, within 30 days of account opening you must deposit in the account $2,500 or more in funds new to First Interstate Bank (“New Money”) and maintain a balance of not less than $2,500 for 60 consecutive days beginning on the 31st day after account opening (“Qualification Period”). Any reduction of the “new money” balance below $2,500, including because of service charges or fees, will result in loss of bonus eligibility.
- Transfers from another First Interstate account or loan, as well as deposits made through person-to-person networks (e.g., Zelle), are not eligible to satisfy the “new money” deposit and balance requirement for the bonus.
- Finally, your new account must remain open through the time we attempt to deposit the bonus and must have a balance greater than $0.00 at that time.
- If you meet all qualifying criteria, the business checking bonus will be credited to your new business checking account within 45 days after the end of the Qualification Period.
- This offer may be discontinued or changed at any time without notice.
- The bonus may be reported as income earned on IRS form1099-INT, 1099-MISC or 1042-S, as required by law, and recipient is responsible for any applicable taxes.
- All bank account bonuses are treated as income/interest and as such you have to pay taxes on them
Avoiding Fees
Monthly Fees
Classic business checking is the easiest to keep fee free. It has a $10 monthly fee that is waived if any of the following are done:
- You maintain a $500 minimum daily balance during Statement Cycle
- You maintain a $5,000 minimum daily balance in combined Business Deposit Account balances
Early Account Termination Fee
$10 if closed within 90 days (at least this is what it was for the personal checking bonus)
Our Verdict
Not available in as many states as the recent personal bonus unfortunately and must open in branch. Requirements are easy to meet though and worth doing if you live close enough to a branch. Will add it to the best business checking bonuses.
