- PSA: Do not Activate your 12 New Gogo Wifi Passes from your US Bank FlexPerks Visa Signature Credit Card Immediately by Travel With Grant. Very useful little PSA here.
- Gaming the system, California pension edition by PFdigest. Thanks for outing this. In all seriousness, what a horribly broken system. I hate retroactive rulings, but in this case it seems like it’s needed.
- PayPal and Mastercard Unveil New Benefits by Low Cards. Nothing terribly exciting, but something at least.

Sorry about that, I’ll email you the password in a moment.
I have to add that pension spiking is now much much harder after the PEPRA law was started in 2013. One of the components is the limit of pensionable compensation to about 115k-135k. I make 200k+(physician), so it’s absolutely impossible for me to spike my compensation. No matter how much I make, my pension won’t be any higher than someone who makes 135k.
It’s juicy news to write about the people who game the pension system, inciting more people to cut down on pension benefits. What these articles fail to note is that the pension reform has already happened! The examples noted tend to be people who started government service prior to 2013.
The article talks about county not the state where the law was passed.
And what about taking back from the people who already gamed the system?
Cops are some of the biggest criminals in this regard. And jerks get away by saying they don’t get paid enough.
Pension spiking is very old and well known in California. Liberals are thieves just like conservatives. Both steal differently.
People bribe each other. Quid pro quo across boundaries. So government and elected officials fight for liberal social issues and social activists look the other way when these officials steal.
Corruption everywhere. Which is why it is funny to see Americans act like thier country is a shining city on a hill.
Uhhhh… How does this apply a political affiliation?
If you knew you could get more money in retirement, wouldn’t you want to? It has nothing to do with political ideology.
