Metabank has been having issues on and off for a couple of years now. I do not do WM/Kroger but I am seeing that when I do my organic spending now and again. One of these days this will end badly, but at least they are declaring the funds are FDIC insured.
Unloaded 13 SM VGC this past week. Only one was given debit not allowed code at register. On second swipe attempt it worked. Want to say I had same issue previously with some grocery 500s. Meta was only common factor other than unload location.
I was able to unload 5, but 4 of them were a struggle. Multiple swipes required. No difference between Customer Service and MC, both gave the error. No difference between MO for 995 and 999.12, both gave error.
I had no issue whatsoever with the other 4 of them at Meijer. Did both 1000 even unload and 996.30 without any issues.
I don’t want to muddy the waters but when I called the 800 number on the back of the card the guy put me on hold for a long time, then came back and said it was clearly the merchant’s fault because they never even sent over an authorization request. I don’t believe the guy, but that’s what he told me.
