Going to do a detailed post about the scam w/ OV cards once incomm send me my check.
For now, when buying OV unwrap immediately and compare the serial numbers from the packaging and the plastic. They should be the same number.

What you did wrong was buy from raise in the first place. If you are buying gift cards from 3rd party resellers, you always risk losing your money. You are saving more money in exchange for taking a much higher risk. It is no different than buying a penny stock.

Just a quick story i had with Raise
Im a frequent buyer on Raise anytime there are good discounted gift cards.
When Raise had the buy $100 get $10 off any goft card
I bought four $25 BP gas cards for $90 total.
Now when it arrived. The envelope had a tear in the side and when i opened it there was nothing in there other then the paper with the 4 squares where the gift cards should have been.
At first i thought someone stole it along the way
But then the tear wasnt big enough to take out the gift cards especially when theyre usually attached onto the paper.
So i came to a conclusion that the seller never put the gift cards in the envelope and he purposely ripped a little bit the envelope to make it look like it was stolen/lost in the mail.
Anyway so i contacted Raise
And they told me to send in pictures of the ripped and empty envelope and then wait 30 days for a response.
(Its Nonsense because what pictures can i send them after i already opened the envelope? I already ripped the envelope apart and maybe i took the gift cards and then im taking a picture of an empty envelope?).
So i decided i dont have patience for this games anymore.
Im done buying from Raise espicially after this.
(I once had that a Buffalo wild wings $50 card
Simply didnt work and the balance was $0
And it was so embarrassing).
So i went to Amex online and disputed the charge
And then a few days later Raise sent me an email that because of the merchent dispute my account is on hold and i cant buy cards or use existing electronic cards.
Luckily i dont have any electeonic cards with them.
(Electronic cards i buy on Cardpool since they constantly show you the remaining balance after a partial use).
What do you think, did i do right or wrong?

You were just unlucky then. I bought a lot of gift cards from Raise.com and I’ve been enjoying using a portal to them as well. My suggestion is that only buy one card in one transaction. What happened lately to me was that I purchased 4 subway physical cards in one order but shipper only shipped 3. Emailed Raise and after about two weeks, refunded the missing card. You never know if the seller play tricks on your order. Raise charge 15% of value of card and use part of it as free shipping label to shipper, so there is no incentive for buyers to save shipping for them. Let them send 4 mails by buying one card each checkout. I guess the gas card’s activity can be easily obtained from the company’s phone system, such as speedway and BP. So to defend yourself, you can ask raise.com to obtain the card and pin from seller and ask them to call to check the balance or usage activity of the card. You can also file dispute with your credit card company if they are slow or not getting the result as you expect. Last thing is that I prefer buying e gift cards because I don’t trust the post office’s service.
