Our Verdict
This seems to be a recurring deal from Safeway now and I’m definitely not complaining. GAP gift cards can be used at any of the GAP stores (GAP Kids, Old Navy, Banana Republic), if you sell the gift cards online then you’ll be able to sell them as a Banana Republic gift card for example, if you mail them in then they will probably only be accepted as a GAP card.
ABC Giftcards and Giftcard Zen are both purchasing GAP giftcards for 80% of face value. That means you’d break even on the gift cards, but you’d earn credit card rewards points. Safeway should code as a grocery store and there are credit cards that earn up to 6% cash back on grocery store purchases. You also earn fuel points on gift card purchases, for every $500 in gift cards you buy (for $400), you get $1 off per gallon up to 25 gallons.
This could also be useful for reaching minimum spend requirements.
