The Offer
Okay, this is a little bit a stab in the dark, but there seems to be a new kid on the eBay block: Giftcardoutlet. They don’t have a whole lot of stock and the Home Depot, especially, will sell out fast.
- Home Depot gift cards 5% off. Less than 200 left in the $100 denomination.
- Sports Authority 15% off. Less than 600 left in the $100 denomination with 86 sold.
- Bass Pro Shops 15% off. Less than 900 left in the $100 denomination with 26 sold.
- Aeropostale 20% off. 11 left in the $100 denomination.
- AMC 10% off. Less than 500 left, none sold.
Important: All the gift cards sold here are physical paper gift cards which will be mailed to you. All of them can be used in-store or online. All come with free shipping. There are currently no limits showing on the amount of gift cards which can be purchased; the only limit is their stock noted above.
Our Verdict
We don’t know much about this seller; they have 29 positive feedback and one negative. The one negative is an eBay user who is “No longer a registered user” which leads me not to give much credence to him. In any case, I personally wouldn’t too worried about buying from them since there is always credit card protections and eBay/Paypal protection. I’ve gotten reimbursed from Paypal for a gift card gone bad, although it was obviously a hassle.
Hopefully, this is another gift card reseller here for the long term. eBay doesn’t allow sellers to have more than one gift card up for sale without special permission. I’m assuming that they gave special permission to Giftcardoutlet. Giftcardoutlet is an eBay member for since November 2014.
My Theory
Call this a conspiracy theory or what, but I think that Giftcardoutlet is Cardpool as they both are located in Emeryville, California. It is a little surprising that they’d sell second-hand gift cards without notating it as such, so I may be wrong. If anyone buys from them, let us know if it comes from the same address as Cardpool.
Why not just buy straight from Cardpool or another exchange directly?
- Get 2% back from the portal currently
- Get 2% back in eBay Bucks, or more via targeted offers
- Use up eBay gift cards (alternatively, you can pay with a Visa/MC/Amex gift card via Paypal)
- 5x with INK? Hmm, probably not but who knows…
Just wanted to let the community know that these cards are not second hand but are over runs from another program hence the reason for the GiftCardOutlet moniker. Additionally these cards can not be resold to Cardpool.
Thanks Brett!
gift card purchases are not under paypal buyer protection anymore. the paypal agreement was updated earlier this year.
Link?
My memory tells me the opposite – it was added to buyer protection.

Wonder how buying from them (cardpool) then trying to sell it back to them would go.
IIRC, there are issues in buying from a reseller and selling back to resellers (though I don’t remember if it was specific to a particular one or not. I think Chasing the Points had a post on this).
Confirmed they are cardpool. Ordered the home depot cards last night, made more sense with the 4x ebay bucks. Billed as PayPal*Carpool.
