Our Verdict
Sometimes we see three months for free and we’ve seen a $50 gift card and six months for $30. I would personally never pay full price for these smart devices like this Google Nest Hub as they almost always seem to be thrown in for free in other deals. Not sure if there is a resell play here, probably is but too much effort for me so I’ll be giving this a miss but might be worth doing for others.
Just use a temporary virtual credit card number.
So glad my Lifetime membership is still going . Bought in 05 with my NWO capital one card
I called to cancel and I guess I had done the 6 months thing so much they gave me the $5.95 for 12 months. Which comes up to $7 a month with their artist fee. Still better than this deal.
Google nest hub sold on ebay yesterday for $65 and $75… so kind of a break-even deal if you are in it for the 6 months of satellite readio
Protip: If you have the BuyPower card and won’t otherwise use your $250 / yr statement credit allowance, SiriusXM is eligible for that credit. I had $600 banked and don’t otherwise plan on getting a GM Vehicle in the future, so I ended up picking up two of these using my banked rewards and then cashing in the statement credit.
If you have an existing account and want to add a new radio, or want to play the “threaten to cancel” game to get this on an existing radio, YMMV, but calling should work.
Before creating a subscription with SiriusXM, it’s wise to google people’s experiences in attempting to unsubscribe from the service.
Tell them you are selling the vehicle, there is nothing at all they can do to have you continue to pay for service on a vehicle you don’t own.
Also you can now cancel online so you can glaze over their script as opposed to being forced to listen to it word for word on the phone.
Chase and BoA offers have a $5 back at SiriusXM.
I renewed my Sirius subscription 7 months ago and was given 6 months for $60 and a free Echo Dot. I just called to renew again and was given the standard $59/6 months. Wonder if I could get this deal?
I just don’t get why use anymore satellite radio, when absolutely everything is available through apps/internet. Not to mention the sound quality.
Pretty easy to understand really. For a while I had a data cap, long commutes, and only listened to Sirius talk radio news/politics/business (so quality isn’t an issue).
Because not everyone has unlimited data? We subscribe one car to it because of up to 3 hours/day commute.
Because we like the channels. I am not sure why that is hard to understand. My daughter likes kids place live and I like the other channels.
My primary use for satellite radio is listening to news and live sporting events when outside of mobile phone coverage.
Good luck cancelling. I ended up having to get my bank to put a block for them on my card.
I cancel every fall then do a 6 mo promo in the spring to cover summer road trips and have never had an issue (or paid more than $5/mo, sometimes free or moneymakers).
If you cancel or terminate your subscription during the first 6 months, you will be charged a $69 EARLY TERMINATION FEE.
Nice
Yeah, but you’re prepaying for 6 months… if you call, they’ll actually give you both the date that your plan will renew, and the date before which you’ll be charged the cancelation fee. There’s like a two day window between the two, so if you’re willing to set a reminder, it’s easy enough to cancel and avoid the fee but also not get charged for renewal (it renews into a normal monthly plan).
