Some Barclays Wyndham Earner Business Cardholders Being Charged $149 Annual Fee (Should Be $95)

Barclays is offering a bonus of 90,000 points on the Wyndham Earner Business card. The card has a $95 annual fee that is not waived the first year. Unfortunately some people are being charged a $149 annual fee, it seems like you can contact Barclays and get the issue fixed although some representatives are stating the $149 annual fee is correct so you might need to escalate your case. I wonder what’s going on over at Barclays given a similar issue happened with foreign transaction fees being incorrectly charged.

my issue is a bit different, but still a problem with barclays. so i applied for this card over a month ago, but i was given a conditional approval pending docs to their customer security team. they have since confirmed receipt, however, csr claims i still need to contact customer security to proceed with approval. their hold times are ridiculous btw, like 2 hrs waiting for somebody to answer. then when someone finally answered, they told me i’m contacting the wrong department. i even confirmed with csr that i was calling the right number. basically, i’m getting sent in an endless circle. anybody else experience this? any suggestions?  Chuck  William Charles

Anybody who got charged $149 and opened a dispute – are you seeing the adjustment?

Charged $95 in July. The conversion did change my billing address, to match my personal card.

I missed $1,000 worth of points and the 50k bonus on my JetBlue Business on this botched transition as well. They opened a ticket and said it’ll take at least a month to investigate.

Guessing all these issues are related.

Well, this botched transition just keeps bearing fruit. On this statement I am missing American Airlines Miles and on the statement they tell me that they are aware of the issue and the total number of miles earned is the correct amount, except it isn’t and doesn’t include any miles earned prior to the transition. Plus, now my companion pass spend, spend towards the $3000 American Airlines EQDs, and the $15000 in spend from July 15 through November 15, 2021 are all screwed up. Can’t even reach someone by phone to resolve this. The statement dates on the website still show dd mm yy instead of the US formatting of mm dd yy. Shows they have a long way to go to get the issues corrected. As a small business owner, I don’t have time to waste with a credit card company who is so clueless. Unless, they offer to refund my annual fee, I will be cancelling my card, filing a complaint with the CFPB, and also sending a message to American Airlines on why I have cancelled the card and why they should consider a new credit card partner.

I have never seen the level of incompetence that Barclays has exhibited in this transfer. Airlines that have merged have done a better job with a much larger data set. It makes you wonder what other corners Barclays is cutting and whether their AML and other policies are up to regulators standards.

Sure got nailed with it here, on 8/31. Between this and the screwed up autopay transition from old site to new site resulting in a late fee that took weeks to resolve, consider me unimpressed. FYI – everyone should re-check to see if their autopay from the old site is still setup. I had to redo it all.

I was able to get a late fee reversed by secure message

They explicitly said that autopay would be disabled, so everyone needs to set it up again if they haven’t.

I was approved for the card on August 20. I was billed the $95 annual fee but I still haven’t received the card. I contacted them.

It took me 14 calendar days from website approval. I think they are backed up because I could not check my application status online, but when I called in, they confirmed they received my application.

I was instant approved and it took FOREVER to get the card (in CC terms) — probably 2 1/2 weeks.
