  • Starbucks Bingo is back and runs until June 20, 2021

The Fine Print

  • Valid from 5/24 until 6/20
  • Limit one bingo board per member

Our Verdict

Might as well register if you like Starbucks to get some free stars. Usually a good idea to just go about your ordering as normal and then as the promotion draws to a close see if it makes sense to make some specific purchases to finish rows/your board. I believe everybody has a different board and rewards these days.

Anybody know how many stars you will get for each row/diagonal/column completed? Or is it random?

Got 15 stars for completing a whole row. What a sham.

The only way to strategize is to construct a matrix of potential overlaps. Make use of center square to optimize. For example, buy one item before noon and one item after noon + one sandwich on a Fri or Sat + app purchase at 2 different stores + 2 handcrafted drinks in one order = weekend morning app purchase 2 kids hot chocolate at 11:50AM, go to 2nd store and app order after 12 noon any sandwich = 4 spaces.

Kids hot chocolate counts as handcrafted item – $1.95
Petite vanilla scone counts as bakery – $1.25

I don’t remember this from prior years, so that’s how memorable it is if Starbucks is paying attention.

This used to be winnable by buying bananas from different locations at different times. It was a joy to explain to my coworkers one year. Anyway, they’ve fixed that highly enjoyable mechanism/ bug so now we have to spend actual money.

Agree! This year it’s expensive to get 350 stars IF i complete. Each square requires minimum $10 in items. Lunch multiple days, handcrafted drink AND breakfast item, multiple purchases at specific times or weekend, and so on. Not worth it.

Exactly, Alli A. One of my squares is to buy a drink AND a baked item FOUR separate times (“Two For Yum”). While I’ve had that challenge before, I’ve never had that steep a purchase requirement in past Bingo games.

Agreed. I only have three squares that can be met by buying any “cheap” item (I prefer mini vanilla bean scones, cheese, or avocado spread): On a roll (2x), Star Dash (4x), and Weekender (2x). I also have only one other square that is less than $5 minimum cost, Breakfast Time. Unless I get other personalized offers that stack with Bingo, I don’t think I will play this game beyond these easier/cheaper squares.
