Our Verdict
This could even be a moneymaker by donating $25 and getting $30 back. A lot of people have mentioned in the past being uncomfortable with profiting off a charity (the assumption being that the charity is footing the bill here), which makes sense.
These next few hours are charity donation time before year’s end, and some people are especially trying to max out before the new tax laws going into effect. Donating $30+ won’t cause the charity a loss and will still get you a full tax deduction. (I don’t know exactly why, but on the receipt it’s clear that ‘no good or services were received.’) This is the first time it actually makes sense to me from the charity’s perspective why they are offering a higher reward than donation since it will spur people to donate even more before year end.
My experience and that of others is that these Swagbucks are posting immediately upon making the donation; note, it does show as pending for a month until you’ll be able to cash out. Be sure to use the same email, as per the fine print – I always forget to do this so I’m bolding it twice.
There’s no subscription here to cancel, but keep some people end up having problems either with the points tracking or with Swagbucks deactivating their account for reasons which aren’t clear, so keep the risks in mind. If you’re new to Swagbucks then please read our review. You can also get a bonus of up to $13 by using a referral link.
