Synchrony Financial have announced that their CareCredit brand will acquire Citi’s health card portfolio. The acquisition includes 14,500+ providers bring CareCredits total to 200,000+ providers. Existing Citi credit cardholders will be issued with new account numbers in mid-February (seems a little off considering we’re almost in late February) and will also be issued with new credit cards to replace their existing cards at a later date.
Most readers won’t really be that interested in this news as the CareCredit only offers special financing and no rewards program. Synchrony did recently launch the new Cathay Pacific credit card as well.
