Seems like this is targeted or at least YMMV as people are talking about only getting $0.30 in the comments.

Our Verdict
GasBuddy requires you to pay with their payment card (and you link your checking account to that card) so you’re losing out on the credit card rewards there. $0.50 back in points will outweigh 5% cash back on a rewards card for most people. That being said setting this up will be a lot of effort, too much for most people. It would really get interesting if you could redeem Fuel Rewards to reduce the cost of your gas first and then still get the $0.50 back. If anybody has tried this type of stacking, let me know in the comments below.
