Our Verdict

This 15% is in addition to what you’d normally earn. I think these promotions are worth it because of how frequently they are offered:

They also have promotions through the Fount app as well.

newbie here, just want to confirm that it is extra 15% points back from the sywr portal?
take Staples for instance, the page shows 3% points back at Staples, so I can get 18% points back totally?
Thanks!

Edward, Yes, they will post as 2 separate transactions. One for the 15% back and one for the 3% back.

Does anyone know if this has, in the past, applied to cumulative/multiple purchases (ie. purchases that add up to a maximum of $333.33) or is it just on your first purchase?

I’ve done these offers for over a year but the wording IS vague. I’d do one transaction if possible. If you are willing to risk it as an experiment and report back that would open up new possibilities if it worked. I checked the fine print from previous offers I saved and they all say *purchaseS* but I’ve only ever done one large purchase. They (syw) are kinda iffy so I didn’t want to give them a reason to deny me. These are frequently the offers I have to contact them to get the credit for, not always, but usually. Now you have me wondering. Hmmm…

I tried it (2 separate transactions totaling over $333), but unfortunately:

They credited me with regular points, which posted today for both transactions. However, SYW shorted me on the bonus points. So I didn’t get any! Not planning to follow up – a lot of hassle for what is likely not much value. (I view SYW dollars as worth $0.75)

Plus, SYW has been good to me, so I’m just going to leave it.

It’s possible the bonus points are just delayed. Which store(s) did you purchase from?

I’m trying to come up with a way to use an amex offer with this. Best I can do is with Hayneedle but I don’t want or need anything from there. I’ll give it a few more days and figure something out. Worst case is Staples.

Here is what I’ve been doing:
1. Find out from the DoC when one of these offers is available
2. Use the portal for Staples.com
3. On Staples, get a Target e-giftcard (gets delivered within 2 hours or so)
4. Use a 5% office supply store cashback card (for me its Amex SimplyCash)
5. When card is delivered in email, click it to add to android pay.
6. Use giftcard in android pay for Target shopping that I do anyway.

What’s the point of Android Pay? Why not print the egift or scan from the Target app?

Mainly so I wouldn’t have to deal with a piece of paper in my wallet all the time. When you look at the egift card that staples sends you, it gives you a one click option to add it to your android pay wallet.. so I was doing that just to make it easier on me.

I thought Android Pay was supposed to dynamically update the balance, but its not working.

If I can enter in the code in the Target app I may switch to that if it shows the updated balances.

If you have a target account, you can add all your gift cards there. Later it can be easily pulled from there for both online and in-store purchases.

Is it possible to do it from CartWheel or do I have to sign in to target.com on my phone? I added my gift card and I don’t really see a “Gift Card” section in Cartwheel

Cartwheel is a separate app. You need the main Target app to manage gift cards.

You have to add it from target.com, and then you can see the added gift cards in your target app. Next time you have to pay, just open the app, go to your account, your gift card and show the gift card you want to pay with.

The balances are updated automatically and if you return an item (originally purchased with gift card). you can get it added to one of the existing cards instead of issuing a new one.

I can’t think of any off hand. Maybe check Frequentmiler, he might have a guide.
