On the app only the basic doritos locos taco was free- adding tomatoes+lettuce to make it deluxe was extra and only one taco was free.

Then the closest store to me wasn’t in the app so I went in person, ordered 2 deluxe locos tacos and the cashier didn’t charge me for either so potentially worth trying your shot in store with this one.

I already redeemed my free Taco through the app yesterday.

If i just stop by a Taco Bell today, will they just give me one like that?

I initially thought they are talking about a military base. I thought, well, a military base is so huge, how can someone steal it? Also, stealing things should be prohibited by law. Why Taco Bell is encouraging criminal activities? I then searched online and found that they are talking about baseball…

Why should I be embarrassed? I am not a native speaker, and I am not a fan of baseball. I know almost nothing about baseball.

Yes, don’t be embarrassed. Easy enough mistake to make, especially for someone that doesn’t watch baseball. I actually think it is a really funny line of reasoning:
“That Taco Bell is really upping the ante just to sell more tacos. They’re going to get someone shot encouraging them to steal an army base in the back of their trucks!”
It gave me a laugh 🙂

Last time they did one of these free taco promos (I forget if it was NBA or MLB) but it was redeemable by app only, and surprise surprise, app wasn’t working for most of the day.

Had a gif of a taco falling over “OOPS! Well, this is embarrassing. Something went wrong over here. Give us a few minutes to get it together and then try again.”

Total BS.

last I recall tacos are… what…. $1.10 each or something?

Christ, would cost you more in gas/vehicle maintenance since each mile is estimated to be ~$0.60

Try $1.99 for a doritos locos… which is what you get

People love free. Even if the cost to get the free is worth more than the free.

Beg to differ, nobody watches NBA any more. The other leagues are doing just fine.

I would not touch Taco Bell tacos even if they paid me.

If you “wouldn’t touch Tako Bell” (sic), why do you care if Taco Bell gives its food away during the World Series or the NBA Finals?

They usually do this for the NBA Finals also. Steal a base in the World Series, “steal and taco.” If a road team “steals a win” the NBA Finals, “steal” a taco.

My guess is the two tournaments were so close to each other this year that Taco Bell picked one and it happened to be the World Series.

Not that ratings matter in the days of streaming plus football being on but Game 7 of the NLCS had higher ratings than every single NBA finals game this season.

All hail the great Mookie. Stealer of bases, bringer of tacos. Pretty sweet home run he had in the 8th too!
