The Offer
- TAP Air Portugal Miles&Go is offering a bonus of 200% when purchasing miles. Normally you pay 70€ (~$77) for 2,000 miles. Under this promotion it would be $77 for 6,000 miles. That works out to be 1.283¢ per mile
Our Verdict
Looks like they will be offering an award sale soon, as well as some sort of discount on the Club TAP Miles&Go (lets you buy miles for 0.82¢ per mile). Given that Club TAP is so much cheaper than this promotion, I don’t think buying miles makes sense. I’ll be interesting to see what the upcoming discount on Club TAP is. Biggest problem with this program is the high fuel surcharges though and reducing the cost of miles doesn’t really help with that.
