Our Verdict

The Prestige offer is very easy to make use of, the Premier offer will be useful to some. Let us know if you got an offer on any other Citi card, thus far we’ve only heard reports of offers on those two cards, and even there it’s a targeted offer only.

Chuck Just got a new 10x points offer for online purchases on my Citi Rewards+ card. So I guess that’s on $277.77 worth of purchases since the max bonus points is still 2500.

i had the “online purchases” version of this offer on my TY Rewards+ card. It worked for insurance and medical payments that the BofA Cash Rewards would have excluded.

Since the card rebates 10% of your points when you redeem them, the bonus points are worth even more.

Meant to add that the BofA CR card would have excluded those from the 3% online category. So the Citi card does not seem to have any restrictions.

Citi Rewards+, 5x per $1 on eligible purchases like: dining, shopping, travel and more! Offer excludes gas station and supermarket purchases earning double ThankYou points. I have no idea what this means, is it basically all spend except for gas stations and supermarkets?

“All Spend” except for gas stations and supermarkets is what they told me when I called and asked.

I got 5x AA miles on “Computer & Electronics Stores” up to 2,500mi by 3-31-20 on my Citi AA biz card. For the record, it’s the regular 1x + 4x bonus miles. Terms say cash-like transactions do not count/qualify, but does not specifically mention gift cards.

Received the Prestige offer in mid November, 2500 TY points max so $500 spend. The terms say that the bonus won’t appear if the card is cancelled or downgraded. My annual fee hits the account in a couple weeks, I wonder if this may be some kind of retention tool. I’ve done some spend at CVS and supermarkets, gift cards seem to be ok. Unless I get a retention bonus, I’m downgrading the Prestige.

So on Premier, if you have activated the offer, the extra points will be recorded in real time under the bonus categories as they go pending/posted. On the Prestige, you just get a vague lump sum line item ‘bonus points’ after the statement cuts which doesn’t do much for explaining what it was. Just another way how Prestige (their top line card) doesn’t even get the IT attention that the mass market / mass affluent card Premier gets.

Prestige still has some niche uses, but what a disgrace they’ve turned into.
