Our Verdict
This offer is really only interesting if you’ve had this card before, otherwise you should hold out for a 100,000 point offer. We have seen targeted offers with no lifetime language for 100,000 points before but they are extremely rare and I wouldn’t be banking on that coming along for you. If you have had this card before and you think the sign up bonus/benefits are worth it when comparing to the $550 annual fee in the first year then I’d sign up as I don’t see a better no lifetime language bonus coming along. As always make sure you read through these things everybody should know about American Express cards before applying or asking basic questions in the comments.
When there’s these no lifetime language offers, how does it usually end up? The user will have to call it or msg the CSR to demand for the bonus and point out the no lifetime language or it just automatically get posted?
Isn’t it rather likely the new catch-all “eligibility” check will catch everyone still?
I received a similar email for the 50K PRG. Interestingly enough, I just stopped seeing the banner in my online account which stated I was preapproved for the 50k PRG which also had no lifetime language. Even funnier, the PRG banner started the day after I had/applied for a 60k Plat no lifetime language through another preapproval banner/link.
What was the e-mail subject line? Can you fwd it to me? [email protected]
You could apply for AMEX PRG in incognito mode and get the 50k point signup bonus. No need to wait for an email or banner to apply.
That’s correct, but typically the incognito mode still has the lifetime language restriction.
Done! It’s a 50k / $2k spend but there doesn’t seem to be lifetime language. It also says you can call and mention a POID number so not sure if people can try to get the offer that way.
Got the email, but I don’t have the Platinum.
Have you had in the past
No! So this is useless for me.
Would be amazing if someone uncovered a public link or a way we can apply over the phone!
it’s important to have something to dream for
Hahaha, well played. If my biggest dreams are ever for just a credit card reward, pleae kill me.
Whoa, that escalated quickly.
It’s ok to have small dreams like this, I was being serious I like the optimism!
