The Offer
Barclays is sending out an authorized-user bonus offer on various cards:
- Cardmembers who receive this offer and add an authorized user between 12/17/2018 — 12/31/2018 will earn a $15 statement credit.
The Fine Print
- Primary cardmember is financially responsible for all authorized user purchases and transactions.
- In addition, we may provide account information to the credit bureaus for all account users, which could impact an authorized user’s credit score.
- Offer is valid for select cardmembers and is not transferable.
- If you close your account or switch to another product during the promotional period, you may no longer be eligible for this promotion.
- Limit of one $15 statement credit per account.
- To receive the statement credit, the cardmember account must be open, active and in good standing at the time of fulfillment.
- All statement credits earned will appear on your statement 6-8 weeks after the end of the promotion.
Our Verdict
Targeted offer, seems to have been sent out via e-mail. Some people are getting it on the Arrival Plus, others on the Uber card. They had a similar offer earlier in the year. $15 isn’t exactly a massive bonus, but worth doing for most people.
Hat tip to reader Moshed & @lowerybelairmd
I got the offer on my Priceline Card.
I received same offer for Choice credit card.
Got it on my Uber card.
i was targeted on my Uber card.. Just added an AU and no SSN required
Got an email for my red aviator card. Alas, no mention of any $15 or other bonus. No thanks.
i was targeted on my wyndam card..
William Charles I believe in a previous verdict you said this might not be a good idea since it will show up as another account on the authorized users credit report. If I’m remembering correctly, I like that verdict better. It seems like such a small reward that might actually hurt someone trying to get under the 6/24 for Barclays or 4/24 for Chase etc.
YMMV depending on the situation…just something to keep in mind.
add a dog… they dont care about 5/24 status!
Chuck said that, it really doesn’t matter unless you’re worrying about 5/24 status and even then you can get it removed and it shouldn’t report unless you’re in the same household.
Fair enough, I didn’t realize that was Chuck. Thanks for your view on the bonus.
got it on base Arrival card.
if i add my Player 2, couldn’t that affect her credit and lower chances of her other own card approvals?
just add your dog instead. no SSN necessary and you are still liable for any transaction your pup makes. Thats right, if he/she runs up the card at the doggy store getting them bones YOU are liable!
Got the offer for the Wyndham card. Are you sure it doesn’t require a SSN?
online it just asks for DOB not SSN.
Would this possibly be for JetBlue business?
