- You must book your stay through the Choice Hotels mobile app between 05/31/2019 and 07/31/2019 and complete your stay by 07/31/2019
- Maximum of 40,000 bonus points
- Only one room per member per check in date will be awarded the bonus points
- Points will post to the account within 4-8 weeks
Our Verdict
Normally you’d earn 10x base points with the credit card, so this means you’d earn a total of 50x (unless they mean you’re just earning an additional 5x points for a total of 15x). Pretty fantastic deal if it’s actually 50 points per $1 spent. Keep in mind you can’t go through a portal when using the app. Should also stack with this Choice deal.

Terms are below. Note that it is 5x base points; “base points” is not a defined term in the the program rules and regulations, so it’s not clear if this is an extra 5X points or 50x.

A stay includes all consecutive nights at the same hotel regardless of check-ins or checkouts. This promotion is only valid for qualifying stays, which exclude rooms booked below certain rates, complimentary rooms, rooms paid for as part of a convention or meeting, rooms booked through a travel agent or third party online retailer as part of pre-paid wholesale rates, wholesale packages or senior tours. Stays at vacation rental properties also do not qualify for this promotion. After completing a qualifying stay by 07/31/2019, member will be awarded a one-time bonus of five times the base Choice Privileges points, up to a total maximum (all stays included) of 40,000 bonus points. I have the Choice Privileges VISA card and also stay at Choice hotels at least 10 times a year. Did not receive an email for this promo from either Barclaycard or Choice Privileges. Guess it’s targeted.

I got the 5x offer since I have the Choice Privileges credit card. I can’t believe it would be 50x points. I assume it will be 10x base plus 5x extra for using the app (plus 10% for Gold probably just on the 10x base). Plus 5x for booking with the CP credit card. Still not bad if I get 21x overall.
