The Offer
- Citi has sent out targeted offers via mail offering a sign up bonus of up to 50,000 miles on the Citi AAdvantage Gold Mastercard. Bonus is broken down as follows:
- 40,000 miles after $3,000 in spend within the first three months
- Additional 10,000 miles after spending a total of $5,000 within the first 12 months
Card Details
- Annual fee of $50 is waived for the first twelve months
- Card earns:
- 2x miles per $1 spent on eligible American Airline purchases
- 1x miles per $1 spent on all other purchases
- 25% savings on inflight purchases
- Access to reduced mileage awards
Our Verdict
The reason I’m posting this offer is that it doesn’t contain the restrictive 24 month language (as always check your own offer to make sure it’s absent). Meaning if you’ve opened or closed another Citi American Airlines personal card in the last 24 months you can get the sign up bonus on this card as well. If you haven’t then you might be better off applying for another American Airlines card first (executive is offering 75,000 miles and success getting matched to 75,000 miles on select card).
