Citi has sent out e-mails offer bonuses for adding an authorized user. Subject line should be something like this “✔ Special note! <name>, we’re emailing you about unlocking American Airlines AAdvantage bonus miles”. The bonuses are as follows:

Our Verdict
Frankly these offers are terrible. For example on the Prestige you’re basically getting an extra 1x point per $1 spent and you’re paying a $50 annual fee.
I got one for my Citi Thank You Preferred – make $200 in purchases and get an extra 1,000 TY points.
For Prestige AU offer, I wonder if we can sign up for the offer hit the spend, get the bonus points and then cancel the card to get a prorated refund? Out of pocket may work out better as long as everything posts within the next billing cycle? Believe Citi will give a prorated refund of the annual fee regardless when you cancel it
In this morning’s usps informed delivery, I can see a mailer offering 2500 type for adding an au, I assume with spend. Only type card we have is premier.
Citi premiere: add AU, spend $1k earn 2500 TYP. So, not bad.
Got this as a $25 statement credit on my Dividend for $3K spend. Hard pass.

Got the AA 2500 for $2,500 AU spend offer. Tried to add myself as AU, and of course it didn’t work. Wife is on a break to hit 5/24 or normally I’d do it.
I guess If I could spent $3000 on flights and restaurants AND wanted to get a friend Priority Pass for cheap I’d add them to my Prestige.
My Citi Premier card just received “earn 2500 TYP after you add an authorized user and spend $3000”.

Got the AA 2500 miles for $3k in the mail the other day. Had to read it a few times because I thought I misunderstood. Laughably bad.
