[Targeted] Citi Sears (SYWR): Spending Offers For July – December

The Offer

  • Citi has sent out targeted spending bonuses on the Citi Sears card.
    • Earn $75 in statement credits when you spend $750 – $1,499.99 each month or earn $150 in statement credits when you spend $1,500 or more each month on eligible gas station, grocery store and restaurant purchases

Our Verdict

This is why this is our #1 store card. Will also stack with the other offers that are good for 2025 and for offers through December, 2025.

Sadly, my 5 month streak of getting $1k online spending offers came to an end…

Really thought it would last forever

Got an offer via email for 10% back in statement credits, up to $100 in credits, when spending $800+ each month on “total eligible online and in store retail, including Sears” for August through October.

I got spend $1000+ for groceries, gas, restaurants and get back $100

Spend over $2000 and get $250

It’s a new card.

On my older card I get only $200 for spending over $2000.

I buy giftcards at my big box grocer. Never misses.

Does anyone know whether purchases outside the US meet the criteria for the GGR bonus? It would be worth eating the FTF if they do.

It will work as long as the purchase is coded correctly

It relies on MCC alone, then? Have you tried this in practice?

SYWR is still alive!? I thought it’s already converted to some sort of vanilla 1x TYP card.

That was the Sears Mastercard

The last three offers I completed have not paid out. You never know what they will count in a category and what they won’t. One of these offers was for 150,000 SYW points on $1,500 in normal spending. No bonus after three months, and customer service is useless. Citi literally told me to contact Shop Your Way, who redirected me back to Citi… who referred me back to Shop Your Way. Tread lightly with these clowns.

Odd. I’ve gotten every offer paid out, been working on the 50/100 monthly spend. I’ve also had a couple online spends without issues. The thread that people post their DPs on what counts as online was really helpful.

It can be tricky, but I have managed to get most of the bonus I was aiming for. Checking the DPs does help. It can be hard to find the post though, so linking it here: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/what-works-eligible-categories-for-the-citi-sears-card/

Wish  William Charles  Chuck would add the spending DP page link to the main SYW pages for easier navigation. The search function is hard especially when there are quarterly offer posts.

I received three offers last month; $100 back on $1K in home improvement, $100 back on $1K in online purchases, and $40 on 5 transactions of $75+. I had some large Home Depot purchases to make last month and did them all online, which made three offers stackable. All three paid out.

Did you read the exclusion list? A LOT of charges are excluded. Tripped me up my first time.

I never had any problems with this card with multiple simultaneous offers over several years, and now the last 2-3 months they dont seem to be tracking or triggering correctly and theres literally nobody at Citi capable of speaking to it

I thought I didn’t get a bonus but they have recently switched to statement credits instead of points.

I have also noticed a change in the past 2-3 months. I track my spending amounts, and one month I spent over $2k and received neither $200 nor $100 (I doubt I was off by over a grand!).

Like many others, I wish they had some way to verify or understand what counts or not. An online spend tracker would be amazing, though I’m sure they would lose even more money.

is this just the Sears SYW card? I already have the “spend 2k in grocery stores and get $200.00 credit going on for the next 6 months. Already did this same offer for 12 months in 2024. I have the SYW Master card, not Sears. TIA

I received a mailer that is $100 credit when you spend $500-$999.99 each month, or $150 when you spend $1000 each month thru December. Up to a total of $900 in credits

Is it 14th or 15th? Been waiting for new offer but didn’t get anything today. I’m sad, unless they come on 15th?
