[Credits Posting] Discover: $10 Off $50 On PayPal When Redeeming Any Qty Of Points

Update 2/14/21: Credits finally posting on February 9th or 10th.

Deal has ended, view more Discover deals by clicking here.

Update 12/1/20 from Chuck: Big wave of offers sent out (subject this time: Want $10 from PayPal and Discover?). I got an offer this time, and many others are reporting it too. Possibly anyone who has a Discover added to their Paypal got it this time.

The Offer

Direct link to offer (doesn’t mention bonus, so need to have received e-mail. Subject line is ‘Discover: get $10 off $50 when redeeming any qty of points with PayPal’

  • Discover is offering a discount of $10 off $50+ on PayPal when you redeem any qty of points

The Fine Print

  • Valid through 12/31/2020
  • No activation required

Our Verdict

Similar to the Amazon offers we’ve seen in the past. Remember you can just use a single point to trigger this offer. Obviously a good offer if you’re targeted.

Credits posted for me and P2 on 2/9. Both targeted by email. I initially tried to stack this with the Target gift card deal, but I bought small denomination gift cards, and Target broke up my order, and none of them were over $50. So I purchased $51 gift cards from Walmart instead, stacked that with the walmart.com/Paypal deal, and that triggered the $10 Discover statement credits.

12/14/20 $50 PayPal transaction with $0.20 points redemption
2/10/21 $10 statement credit

12/17/20 $50 PayPal transaction
2/11/21 $10 statement credit

Bad timing for me since I have no balance and my statement will close soon so I can’t use $2 small credit waiver.

ieatdogfood Load $10 to Amazon?

I guess I’m being stingy. Can’t really beat 20% bonus Amazon.

So, did you mean that you get 20% bonus when purchasing from Amazon?

$2 on top of $10 = 20%

Xinyang Li His choices are either $8.01 to spend anywhere on some future date after his statement closes ($1.99 balance he kept on his Discover – $10 Discover credit = -$8.01) or $10 to spend on Amazon ($1.99 balance on Discover – $10 Discover credit + $10 Amazon reload = $1.99 balance that will be waived), so it’s like buying $10 of Amazon credit for $8.01, or a 20% discount (25% bonus) on Amazon credit.

My balance before the $10 credit was zero. Didn’t use the card yet for this statement until I did my $12 reload.

ieatdogfood Ah, ok. Does Discover waive $2.00? I’ve always done $1.99.
