Our Verdict
Unfortunately I don’t know what the e-mail subject line is, please share if you do. Seems like a good deal if you do get targeted, but unfortunately looks to be highly targeted.
I got targeted too. The “consecutive nights” wording on the fine print concerns me. Would ONE night at two separate Marriott properties on sepearate dates still count? I would think it would, but am still curious…
Would any of you mind sharing some general stats like status or travel habits so we might be able to determine how they targeted? or does anyone generally know how they do this? just want to see what I can do to get more likely targeted 🙂
DoC said it seemed ‘highly targeted.’
Received email, details says, “…, register before October 31, 2018, and earn 1,500 points on your first stay*, plus 2,500 on your next – up to 4,000 bonus points total.” Asterisk says ” *A “stay” is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, regardless of check-in/checkout activity.”
I got this too. Meh.
Meh. I’d rather have points.
Doubt I’ll be targeted since I already have 3 paid stays booked during that time frame. 🙁
Cancel, wait, rebook
I booked stays at Marriott a month ago using an discount website — just signed up for this offer (came in email). Will those stays (October 2018) count, or do you have to book through Marriott to get the credit?
Yes and stays only counts if booked after you register.
Also, they have to be paid stays.
I booked two stays using points and they are not showing in the tracker.
The Fine Print
“Get a Free Night Award after completing 2 eligible paid stays*.
*A stay is defined as consecutive nights spent at the same hotel, regardless of check-in/check-out activity.
Registration is required. Marriott Rewards members who register for this promotion by October 31, 2018 will earn a Free Night Award (redeemable for up to 35,000 points) after their 2nd eligible paid stay during the earning period. Rooms booked through most third party online retailers and select travel agency bookings are ineligible to earn for this promotion. ”

Appreciate that — I tried finding the T&Cs and just wasn’t having luck on my mobile.
Can you please define two stays? I am planning to go to Denver this winter break and benefit from this offer.
A stay has always been defined as one or more nights at a location, even if you check in and out each day. To have two stays at the same hotel, you’d have to have a day gap between them. If you need two nights to equal two stays, you need to stay in one location for a night, check out and stay somewhere else the second night.
Do the 2 stays have to be paid stays? Or can they be award stays or even free night (from Marriot CC) stays?
I’d guess they would have to be paid stays…but what I’m thinking is if you have the Luxury card and haven’t used your $300 credit yet, this could be a good way to use and get another night out of it assuming the stars align for you.
Name, register before October 31, 2018, and make just two stays* to enjoy a Free Night Award.**

** Free Night Awards can be redeemed for one night in a standard room type with a redemption level at or under 35,000 points.
Also, is a stay considered one night? Meaning can I go to 2 diff hotels on 2 diff nights?
Yes. Why wouldn’t it be considered a stay?
Read the fine print.
I read some significant exclusions.
I got the offer as well. Question is whether you can use awards for the 2 nights! Anyone know?
It says paid nights, no?
