Not sure if anyone actually got this. I didn’t and had to reach out to them since their own terms said the payment would happen by 12/31. Second time I’ve had to do that:

“Thank you for contacting PenFed.

I apologize for the inconvenience that this has caused for you.

Our records indicate that you did meet the requirements to receive your $10.00
credit on your PenFed Credit Card.

I have sent the information to appropriate department for them to process on
your behalf.

Please feel free to reply or find us at PenFed.org/Help if you need further
assistance.

Sincerely,”

Not sure why I was solely focused on just the tap to pay method (especially when you consider the pic in the offer literally shows on mobile pay being used), but I spoke with PenFed earlier today and they confirmed that both mobile pay and tap to pay transactions count. All my current spend is focused on other cards (primarily my new Chase Freedom Flex) so I’ll have to find 3 real small purchases to make in the next week.

I have a Penfed Visa, and was targeted….weird thing is, I then realized my PF Visa card does not have the tap to pay feature, and it is a valid, up to date card. Contacted customer service yesterday, but the “credit card team had already gone home” for the day. At this point, I’m not sure they could get a new card to me in time.

I have asked penfed to let us lock cards when we are not using them. Sone banks are ducking idiots.

Also many banks won’t let me see the password i am typing even even i am alone. I have given feedback to change it but sone passive aggressive idiot probably decided they knew more about security.

And the same fucks will send me email and ask me to click on links.

No email for me. Have not used my penfed card in years.

Will this come with a side order of massive cc data theft, as usual, Penfed ?

If this were to happen how could it be specific to Penfed?
Wouldn’t any other CC at the same terminal be just as susceptible?

Yes the data breach was specific to Penfed, most likely inside job somewhere in their data processing system. Happened at least twice already, most recently about two months ago. Just a few weeks ago those idiots made me sign and mail them the standard form, as if I was to blame, when dozens of people on this very forum reported the same data breach of their debit cards.

Right, but it had nothing to do with a data terminal.

Using a debit card from ANY bank is always risky. Use a CC instead!

I never even activate debit cards unless it’s required for for a bank bonus, then I cancel them.

This offer is for Penfed credit cards:
“To receive your $10 statement credit, you must make at least 3 contactless purchases by December 1st, 2020 with the credit card referenced above.”

Did I say anything about data terminals in my original post ? I was being sarcastic about Penfed specifically. A lot of dormant Penfed cards will become active now and then will return to a sock drawer. Makes them a good target for fraud a couple of months later.

Penfed made me whole on their debit card fraud, but they do have an issue with data protection.

You responded to a post about using POS terminals in your original comment. Context matters.

And it did look sarcastic until you started arguing…

Some jackass used my card in Amsterdam and Mexico and they have the nerve to ask, “did you attempt these?”

Especially if they were POS at the same time and you used the card in Denver on the same day lol.

Sure this is targeted? I received this on all cards… 🙂

Looks like it; I only received the offer once. 🙁

Definitely targeted. I have 3 Penfed Visas and only got it on one (the one with the lowest rewards of course but for 3 minimal purchases it doesn’t matter).
