  • Plastiq is offering a 1.95% fee on 3 payments up to $10,000 each

Our Verdict

See our full review of Plastiq here. New Plastiq members can signup with a referral link and get a bonus – details here.  Not as good as the previous 1/1.5% fee deals but still a discount on the standard price of 2.5%.

Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.

If you got the new Spark offer (spend 50K for $2K) its a good way to reach the bonus and you break even on the fee since its a 2% cash back card.

I think Plastiq may have suspended Cap1 cards? Showing error for me when i tried to use it

Last I knew, CapOne personal cards are blocked, but CapOne business cards work. I used my CapOne business spark card on plastiq last month to hit my initial spend for the spark offer, no problems. But of course, it’s a fluid situation.

So long 1.5% promos – but still great for meeting MSR for SUBs at 1.95%

The 1% and 1.5% targeted promos seem to happen when you haven’t used your Plastiq account for a few months. I know someone that got a 1.5% promo for February. His account hasn’t been used quite some time.

I only use mine when there are promos, and I’ve had three targets, two last fall, one this January, 1%, 1%, and 1.5%.

Plastiq is testing. Give this a pass, otherwise you can forget about the 1% offers.

It seems to me that Plastiq is pressure testing the fee. They are trying to find out what is the max fee people would accept. Last year they tried 1% a few times, then 1.5% a few times, 1% became rare. I would predict if people happily take this 1.95% offer, 1.5% will also become rare.

I don’t get any of the good offers anymore, so I’ve unsubscribed from all emails – way too many anyway.

At worst it’s 0.05% discount on the mortgage using citi double cash

I got this latest email, but I only make Plastiq payments once a year in May/June (for insurance that doesn’t accept credit cards), and so this is of no use to me this month.

The subject line for this email on Monday 10 Feb was: “We’ll sweeten the deal for bill bay”.

People have mentioned targets as being for unused accounts, but I saw November, December, and January. Curious what the model is, as I didn’t get an offer for Feb.

When paying mortgage, can I choose the code as Tax? In this way I can use amex to generate the check and I can go the the branch to pay mortgage. Thanks!

Maybe they shouldn’t have alienated so many of us small business owners so that we never want to use their service again.

frustrated and feel cheated
frustrated and feel cheated

not sure where to post this and I have not seen this anywhere

If you have ffd of say 1000.89, the 0.89 will never be able to be used as their system cannot account for cents (according to Plastiq although it is shown in your account and yes presumably so that you can add to it – maybe..) and therefore you will only be able to use 1,000 dollars but get this even if you use 1,000 (meaning the payment amount is 1,000) the system will charge you another penny, so in addition to losing your 89 cents, you are also charged another penny.

Unfortunately, its not enough to fight about, but its still surprsing and disappointing that a company like Plastiq will mislead and take advanatge of their customers because at the end of the day who will complain about pennies?!!

Please check it out on your accounts as I hope I am wrong
