I got a similar email 11/23, which expired 11/25. They may be doing these in monthly batches or around holidays.
I made a purchase at a Starbucks on 12/28 and paid using the Starbucks app, and I still haven’t received a loaded coupon on my app.

FYI, if you’re not aware, it shows up in the final screen prior to using the app to make a payment. There is no notification of any kind that you earned the free drink. Hope this helps.
