Our Verdict
This card frequently goes up to $200, the standard bonus is only $100. Now that TD Bank doesn’t offer the 5% cards, this card might be worth looking at if you want a high cash sign up bonus. Just make sure you grab the bigger cash bonuses first.
Other TD Card Reviews:
I live in Pittsburgh and have never had a relationship with this bank. I have received two pre-approved offers from them in the last 6 months along with a preferred customer number.
I got this offer in the mail a couple of days ago. I applied and was approved. I’ve never had a relationship with this bank before, but I did have to enter the provided “preferred customer number”. SOMETHING TO BE AWARE OF: the 0% interest for 12 months is for balance transfers only and not for purchases. When you make your purchases in order to receive the $200 bonus be sure to pay it off monthly so that you won’t be charged interest. And of course there is the obligatory 4% transfer fee.
I got the same 200 on 500 offer in the mail today
I got an offer today in the mail for this card. I am assuming it was targetted. Get $200 back after spending $500 in 90 days. Looks good to me!
Did you already have a bank account with them? Is what Bob K said true? I just wanted to confirm before I apply for the card for nothing.
Yes but that was many years ago, its been closed for quite awhile (6 years)
When applying, it looks like I need a “preferred customer number” to be able to receive the bonus. Does anyone know if I can leave this field blank and still receive the bonus? If not, how do I acquire a preferred customer number?
I called TD to apply and they said you need to have a banking relationship with them already to get the “preferred customer number” and bonus.
Is this also restricted to certain states
I live in Arizona and was denied. First for currently having an account with them – I called them and pointed out that I don’t have an account with them but I did about 8 years ago. After that they denied me for not living in an area where they have banks.
Is this different than TD Cash Rewards card (ie, can I receive bonuses for both)?
This is the cash rewards visa, I think there was one data point of somebody churning TD cards though.
