Currently at San Jose CA Mineta Interational airport there are big signs near gate 8 advertising a new ‘The Club’ lounge that will be opening in fall of 2019. It will be over 3,900 with seating for 88 people. Currently there is a The Club lounge near gate 15, so I’m not entirely sure if this is an expansion or an additional lounge (maybe somebody more familiar with the SJC layout has an idea?).

It’s a new lounge that is under construction in addition to the existing lounge that’s by gate 15 all in Terminal A. The signage originally said “summer 2019” and the first week of August the signage was updated to “fall 2019”.
The lounge by gate 15 is large and quite nice and about 50% of the time closed off to priority pass. Typically greeted with “we’re at capacity due to contracts with airlines” even though the lounge had plenty of open seating.
Hopefully, it won’t be out of toilet paper.
It’s probably a new lounge. The current one is the south side of the main terminal A building, while this one is on the north side, still in the main building.
I’d rather see a new one in the south side of terminal B, those Southwest gates are quite a walk from the lounge.
That’s nice, but both are still a long walk from Alaska/Southwest gate area.
Yay! I find myself there every once in a while, nice to see this!
There was an old American Admiral’s Club lounge in that spot that closed in 2010 and it remained abandoned since the construction for this started.
